Raising vital funds to help save lives & improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer.
Brandon's Story
In September 2021, Brandon began to experience intense pain in his back and numbness in his legs. After numerous trips to doctors and the hospital, the pain was believed to be the result of a gym injury. Brandon was referred for physio at this time. As the pain and numbness increased, Brandon lost all feeling in his legs.
We took him to A&E straight away. He had an MRI scan, which revealed a mass on Brandon’s vertebrae on his spine.
He was rushed to Sheffield Hospital for more tests.
The day after, Brandon was paralysed from the waist down. He was taken for emergency decompression surgery to remove the tumour pressing on his spinal cord.
It was then that Brandon was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma.
Brandon underwent intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy for nine months. During this time, he had to learn how to walk again.
Just ten weeks after Brandon had received the all-clear from his diagnosis, he began to complain of breathing difficulties and chest pains. He was taken to A&E, and it was revealed that Brandon had pleural effusion and multiple tumours that had spread to his lungs. It was at this devastating time we were told that there was no cure.
Three weeks later, just a few weeks before what would have been Brandon’s 21st birthday, he gained his wings, leaving us all devastated beyond words.
We love you always, Brandon, and will carry on your legacy every day. ❤️💙
